Mary Fowler has made history as the first professional footballer to grace the runway at the esteemed Défilé L’Oreal Paris show during Paris Fashion Week, joining the ranks of superstars such as Kendall Jenner and Eva Longoria.
The 22-year-old, who has been representing L’Oréal Paris as an ambassador since 2024, donned a one-sleeved black suit dress paired with black heels for her runway debut, exuding confidence and even blowing a kiss to the audience.
She also joined a star-studded group photo at the event, standing alongside well-known figures like Jenner, Helen Mirren, Jane Fonda, Gillian Anderson, and Cara Delevingne.
‘Honestly, I never imagined I’d be walking any runway, let alone one for L’Oreal that’s in Paris of all places,’ she said.
‘Being the first professional footballer to walk this runway and the inaugural Australian ambassador is truly unbelievable to me, yet it also feels incredibly empowering.’

The 22-year-old Matildas star was full of confidence during her star turn on the runway

Fowler admitted to nerves before the show at the Hotel de Ville but looked to be in her element as she blew a kiss to the crowd
‘I’m a bit nervous, but I’m not putting pressure on myself to be perfect. For me, participating in Le Défilé is an opportunity to demonstrate that being true to yourself is always beautiful.’
Fowler expressed immense pride in representing women in sports and cherishes her experience in the City of Love, hoping it will inspire young girls to ‘dream big.’
Last March the 22-year-old posed for a sizzling photo shoot after signing on as an ambassador for L’Oreal Paris.
Fowler shared photos of herself looking sultry in various skin-baring ensembles on Instagram.
One photo showed the Manchester City star displaying her trim physique in a racy leather bra layered under a white vest and low-rise track pants.
In the image, she posed holding a football emblazoned with L’Oreal’s slogan ‘I’m Worth It’, while flaunting her flawless complexion.
‘Since I was young expressing myself authentically has been super important to me, so joining the @lorealparis family only feels right,’ the soccer star began her caption.
‘I’m so grateful to stand with so many inspiring women to help others see their self-worth. I’m worth it and so are you.’

Mary features in L’Oreal campaigns focussing on ‘women’s empowerment’ across Australia and New Zealand as part of her lucrative new role.

Fowler is currently on the comeback trail after rupturing her the anterior cruciate ligament in her knee while playing for Manchester City in April, with the typical recovery time between nine and 12 months.
She is racing the clock to be selected for the Asian Cup next March, which will be played in Australia.
In news that warmed the hearts of Matildas fans, Fowler was spotted taking part in Manchester City’s recent pre-season camp in Spain.
While her workload was limited, Matildas coach Joe Montemurro hopes she returns to action as soon as November.
Fowler also lifted the lid on the unique philosophy keeping her positive during her injury recovery.
‘I have made a conscious effort to think that I don’t have like a bad knee that needs to be fixed, but I’m getting an upgrade and I’m getting an even better knee,’ she said.
‘I have heard that a lot of girls when they come back… it can be up to a year to feel like probably normal again.
‘I feel like 90 per cent of that is going to be a mental block and so it’s something that I’ve thought about and been like, why don’t I just start changing how I think about it now already?’
