An Arsenal fan was thrown out of the Emirates Stadium after allegedly squaring up to former Gunners midfielder Samir Nasri during the win over Manchester City.

Arsenal beat City 1-0 on Sunday thanks to Gabriel Martinelli’s late deflected strike to secure their first league win over the reigning Premier League champions in 12 meetings.

The victory sent the home crowd into raptures at the final whistle, but it seems the occasion brought the worst out in one supporter.

Nasri, who starred for both clubs, moved to Arsenal in 2008 and played 125 times for the Gunners, scoring 27 goals before making the switch to Manchester City in 2011.

The French international had been working for French television at the match and was sat in the press box when the incident occurred.

At City, Nasri was part of the squad that helped the club with their first Premier League title in 2012’s famous dramatic last day finale and went on to bag a second league championship and a League Cup media in six-year stint.

The French international later played in the Premier League for West Ham before retiring in 2021 after finishing his career playing in Belgium with Anderlecht.
