First introduced in 1995, Mitre’s Ultimax ball quickly became a notable emblem in English football. As a mainstay on Premier League fields during the 1990s, it made history by being the first football to exceed the 100mph speed mark.

Now, 30 years later, Mitre has reimagined the legendary ball, bringing it back with a modern twist.

The new Ultimax Pro 30th Anniversary Ball blends its classic design with state-of-the-art technology, honoring its legendary status while establishing a new benchmark for the upcoming generation.

Though the ball maintains the familiar 6-panel construction, iconic white, blue, and red color scheme, and the distinctive crown logo, it has been enhanced with innovative features. Hyperflow grooves now reduce drag, and a sleek pearl finish pays homage to traditional 30th-anniversary gifts. The interior has also been upgraded, with Hyperfoam cushioning enhanced for crisper strikes and increased power.

To commemorate the anniversary, Mitre has unveiled the “The Next In Line” campaign, highlighting the new wave of football talent continuing their family heritages.

This campaign showcases emerging stars such as Raphaella Wright-Phillips, granddaughter of Arsenal legend Ian Wright, Ruben Butt, son of Manchester United star Nicky Butt, and Jacob Fowler, whose father is Liverpool’s Robbie Fowler.

The trio, each in vintage 95/96 kits, embody the connection between the past and the future – just as the new Ultimax Pro does itself.
