Pep Guardiola has revealed that he trusts his wife to choose his famous match-day outfits.

The Manchester City manager has become somewhat synonymous with having good style on the touchline, donning turtle necks, City’s branded jumpers or the signature ‘hoodigan’ while coaching his side.

Averaging a trophy win every 23 days in his career, Guardiola is used to success, and seemingly wants to look good when doing so.

And, speaking to Men In Blazers, Guardiola heaped praise on his other half when crediting her for his looks.

‘My wife,’ he said when asked how he decides what to wear at work. ‘My wife is the best in the world at many things, but especially in fashion. So she says normally to me, don’t wear this or wear that, so I follow her.

‘I am smart enough to know that when people are much much better than me, follow their advices, and hers is really good.

Guardiola and Sierra, though have been together for 35 years, didn’t get married until May 2014 when they tied the knot in a discreet ceremony in Catalonia attended by their three children and both sets of parents.

And while he is obviously incredibly successful on the pitch, Sierra is to credit for his good style off it.

Guardiola went onto explain how he achieves success in his managerial career. He attributed it to one main factor, and it’s one that’s been around for a long time.

‘Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Man City are so strong economically to buy the best players in the world and have the structure at your disposal to do the job,’ he said. ‘I think the mentality I grew up from with Barcelona academy from 13 years old was that you weren’t allowed to lose and had to keep getting better.

‘Maybe it is now in my bones and I try to inoculate this part of the competitive issue into my players and the clubs and structures and staff.’
