In a repeat of the 2010 Champions League final, Inter snatched a dramatic 2-1 win over Bayern Munich in Tuesday’s quarter-final first leg.

In the opening half, Harry Kane squandered several promising opportunities, which allowed Lautaro Martinez to capitalize with a superb goal just before halftime. After taking the lead, Inter was content to drop back and protect their advantage.

Post-break, Bayern controlled possession, pushing forward fervently for an equalizer. Yet, Inter’s resolute defense restricted their chances, keeping them at bay until the final moments. With five minutes left, substitute Thomas Muller—recently announced to leave the club this summer—scored from close range.

Though Bayern appeared most likely to clinch a victory, they were caught off-guard by a rapid counter-attack, concluding with Davide Frattesi’s goal three minutes from time. This clinched a hard-earned triumph for Inter, setting the stage for the return match in Milan next week.
