Bayern Munich bosses are reportedly considering the futures of four star players as the German champions look to reshape Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

Tuchel’s side cruised into the last-16 of the Champions League with two matches to spare, before wrapping up Group A by easing to a 1-0 win over Manchester United on Tuesday.

Bayern chiefs are still reportedly concerned about a lack of leadership in the current squad, with mainstays Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller approaching the end of their careers.

It followed a challenging 2022-23 season which saw Bayern only claim the Bundesliga title on the final day after sacking Julian Nagelsmann, while they were dumped out of the German Cup and Champions League.

Long-serving stars Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka are reportedly among the players having their future assessed by Bayern chiefs.

Alphonso Davies’ situation is also being considered, despite the trio having all featured heavily in Tuchel’s side so far this season.

Serge Gnabry, who has featured 11 times during an injury disrupted season, was another big name player revealed to have their position in the Bayern squad under threat.

The contracts of Kimmich and Davies both expire in 2025, which will likely force Bayern to make a decision on their futures.

Gnabry and Goretzka still have two years left on their deals at the end of this season.

Davies has previously been linked with Real Madrid and Manchester City, with the Canadian defender’s agent having warned Bayern in the summer that he had spoken to other sides when opening talks over his client’s contract.

Bayern Munich’s sporting director Christoph Freund revealed this week that the German champions will be busy in the January transfer window.

Freund highlighted that Bayern would be looking to sign players with the ‘right mentality’.

IT’S ALL KICKING OFF!

It’s All Kicking Off is an exciting new podcast from Mail Sport that promises a different take on Premier League football.

‘The time after Christmas will certainly not be boring, there will be a lot to do,’ Freund told Sport 1.

‘We need to find a good mix of real stars to give structure and leadership to the team, while at the same time getting more out of the youth work.

‘I think there has to be a mix, we need the right players with the right mentality.

‘Bayern Munich can’t afford to have the 20 best individual players in the future, and that’s not our approach. But we want to build one of the best teams.’
