AC Horsens have completed the signing of striker Simon Becher from Vancouver Whitecaps.

Becher was part of the Whitecaps team that lifted back-to-back Canadian Championships in 2022 and 2023, as he managed 26 appearances for the first team while scoring eight goals.

“Simon has improved tremendously since first joining our club in 2022, which is credit to him as well as a byproduct of the integration with our MLS NEXT Pro team,” Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster said in a release.

“With successful development comes increasing interest in our players. This transfer makes sense for all parties, as it allows us to continue to build our roster while giving Simon a platform to move forward in his career. We wish Simon all the best.”

“William comes to us as a seasoned veteran with a championship pedigree,” Earthquakes general manager Chris Leitch said in a release.

“I’m looking forward to have him be part of our goalkeeper group in 2024.”

Columbus Crew have academy product Taha Habroune to a Homegrown player deal through 2027 with an option for 2028.

“Taha is a talented young player who has continued to improve since joining our Club five years ago. Signing a First Team contract is a testament to his efforts and our Club’s commitment to creating opportunities to advance along our player pathway,” Crew president and general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in a release.

“Taha is the first player to progress directly from the Academy to Crew 2 and now to the First Team, and we fully expect this trend to continue in the future based on the strong environment created by the leadership of Marc Nicholls, Corey Wray, Kelvin Jones, Dan Lock and our entire Crew 2 and Crew Academy coaches and staff.”

The 17-year-old bagged four goals and dished out three assists as a midfielder in 2023 for Columbus Crew 2.
