Southampton are interested in signing former player Danny Ings, who could return to the club alongside Adam Lallana.
On Sunday, Saints secured their promotion to the Premier League by defeating Leeds United 1-0 in the Championship play-off final, thanks to a goal from Adam Armstrong, who celebrated prematurely.

They are eager to act quickly in the transfer market after confirming their spot in the top flight and have already completed one deal. Additionally, they are keen on acquiring Ings from West Ham.
The striker has only scored three Premier League goals in the last two seasons and has struggled for game-time at the London Stadium.
However, during his three years at Southampton from 2018 to 2021, Ings scored 41 times in the top flight.
As well as West Ham and Southampton, the Englishman has played for Burnley, Liverpool and Aston Villa.
The 31-year-old might not be the only Saints alumni making a grand return to the south coast.
talkSPORT reported on Monday that former captain Lallana is in talks over a move back to St Mary’s as he prepares to leave Brighton this summer.
The former Liverpool star came up through the academy at Southampton, spending a total of 14 years at the club before signing for Liverpool in 2014.
It is part of a move to bring in some Premier League nous after returning to the top tier at the first time of asking.

Last year, Southampton faced relegation with a team largely composed of young players and struggled in terms of scoring, netting only 36 goals, making them the second-lowest scorers that season.
Bringing back Ings and Lallana, two fan favourites, would add experience to Russell Martin’s side, who have already garnered a reputation as a forward-thinking team.
Only Leicester and Ipswich have scored more than the Saints this season in the Championship, though they might have to tighten up at the back, having conceded 63 times.
The three aforementioned sides will be playing in the Premier League next season after Leicester and Ipswich finished first and second respectively in the second tier.
