Manchester United are working to complete a deal to sign left-back Sergio Reguilon on a short term loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old has been granted permission to travel and undergo a medical with the Old Trafford club after talks for Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella stalled.

Reguilon had been among United’s options following Luke Shaw’s injury and they have now reverted to that deal

United had wanted the option of an exit clause in January once Shaw is expected to be fit, however, Cucurella would not have been eligible to leave and appear for a third club this season.

United, who are currently without Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia due to injuries, are eager to bring in a new left-back.

There are concerns that Shaw could be out for around two months because of a muscle injury.

Reguilon joined Tottenham from Real Madrid in 2020 and has made 67 appearances for the north London club.
