Watford have unveiled a special-edition kit in honour of their most famous supporter and former chairman, Sir Elton John.
Inspired by the artwork from his 2017 “Diamonds” greatest hits album, the shirt showcases a subtle star pattern on the front, accompanied by silver Watford crest and Kelme logos, finished with the club’s vintage Happy Hornet badge on the hem.
The collar and cuffs carry additional star details, while the reverse is embossed with lyrics from one of his most iconic songs, “Your Song”.
The strip – designed in collaboration with Elton himself – will be worn when the Hornets host Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.
This shirt kicks off the celebrations for the 50th anniversary since the music legend took on the role of Watford chairman in 1976, leading the club’s extraordinary ascent from the Fourth Division to the First.
To celebrate the launch, current players recreated some of Elton’s iconic album covers while clad in full kit. Defender Kevin Keben emulated “Jump Up!” with a bowler hat, while Mattie Pollock honored “Rock of the Westies”.
Half music, half football, all Watford – this one’s a showstopper worthy of the Rocket Man himself.
