David Moyes has hailed Jarrod Bowen’s development at West Ham since he joined the club from Hull City.

Bowen switched the Championship for the Premier League in January 2020, and has gone from strength to strength ever since.

He is currently enjoying a standout campaign, having registered 12 goals and 11 assists in 38 appearances for the Irons this term.

This has seen him linked with a move to Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp heaped praise on the winger on Friday ahead of his side’s clash with West Ham at Anfield on Saturday.

‘Bowen. What a player he became, unbelievable,’ the Reds boss told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

Moyes agrees with Klopp’s assessment of Bowen, admitting that the 25-year-old has done everything asked of him since moving to east London.

‘I see Bowen as having made unbelievable progress,’ Moyes said at his own press conference prior to Saturday’s game.

‘Always you want to see how players make progress and Jarrod has stepped up. And I don’t mean just from Hull to West Ham.’

Moyes is fully aware of the task that faces his side this weekend as they take on a Liverpool side that is yet to taste defeat in 2022.

He has suggested that Klopp’s men have multiple players like Bowen who could cause his team problems.

‘If we are saying Bowen is unbelievable then I am struggling for words for the players at Liverpool. We have huge admiration for them,’ he added.

Liverpool will move to within three points of Manchester City if they beat West Ham in Saturday’s early evening kick-off.

Meanwhile, a win for the Hammers would see them jump into the top four, with Manchester United and Arsenal not playing until Sunday.
