What is England’s pre-match shirt against Scotland?

Scotland host their rivals in a special friendly to mark the anniversary of the first ever international football match.

England revealed on Monday that the squad will wear a ‘unique pre-match top’ ahead of the 150th Anniversary Heritage Match against their rivals.

The Three Lions make a nod to their own heritage by wearing a shirt which bears the original crest from the first Scotland v England meeting in 1872.

The limited-edition shirts, designed by Nike, will then be put up for auction with all proceeds going to the FA’s official charity partner, Alzheimer’s Society.

Harry Kane was seen wearing the shirt during a visit to Hamilton Crescent in Glasgow, where the match took place on 30 November 1872.

The Scotland players will also wear their own special shirt ahead of the game, celebrating their own heritage.

What’s been said?

Ahead of the game, Southgate revealed it would be ‘ridiculous’ to overly experiment with his team in Glasgow.

The Three Lions will be looking for their

‘For us it is more important that we learn as well as play well. It’s what can we take from the game,’ he said.

‘We have got to be strong because they are a good team and we are coming into an environment where you have got to have the personality to play. But we do want to find some things out as well.

‘We’re playing a very high level opponent in a very intimidating atmosphere. They are the sort of nights that have been an important part of our progress over six or seven years.

‘Some of the guys have experienced that and some haven’t, it’s going to be great to find out more about them.

‘But it’s also a challenge we’ve got to head towards, we have to walk into these challenges and relish them because we’ve got huge ambitions as a team and we’ve got a lot of work to do.

‘What we have got is a great spirit, we have to always remind ourselves we are all about the team and we have to show that.’
