Xavi Simons is said to have made a decision regarding his future during the summer transfer window, attracting attention from major Premier League clubs and Bayern Munich.
Simons has had an impressive season, fulfilling his potential as a former child prodigy after moving to RB Leipzig for €50m in January.
However, with Leipzig missing out on Champions League qualification next season, Simons has the chance to elevate his career by transferring to a more prominent club.
Fabrizio Romano writes that Simons has decided to leave Leipzig this summer, with the Bundesliga made aware of those plans. It could be that the 22-year-old Netherlands international says in Germany by joining Bayern Munich, or moves to the fifth country of his young career.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked with Simons, who made his name as a highly-rated prospect in Barcelona’s La Masia, before being poached by Paris Saint-Germain and later having a senior breakout with PSV Eindhoven.
“I’m still a young player, I have many dreams – and the club knows that,” Simons tellingly said of his future last month. He went on to imply that a final decision about which side he wants to join will come after a pair of 2026 World Cup qualifiers scheduled for early June.
It has previously been reported that Leipzig, who are also set to field offers for striker Benjamin Sesko this summer, could demand as much as around €72m (£60m) to sell Simons.
