Steph Curry exits Game 1 with hamstring strain in Warriors worry

The Warriors probably did not envision the start of their second-round playoff series to begin this way.

Stephen Curry exited their Game 1 matchup with the Timberwolves on Tuesday night with 8:19 left in the second quarter with a hamstring strain.

He was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Curry began the game impressively, scoring 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting (including 3-for-6 from beyond the arc), along with one rebound and one assist, as Golden State led 44-31 at the half.

The 11-time All-Star seemed to clutch his left hamstring during the second quarter just before he went for a rebound. He appeared to be in discomfort and carefully dribbled the ball up the court.

Brandin Podziemski entered the game for the star to close out the first half as Curry went back to the locker room.

Should the Warriors be without Curry for any duration, it hardly needs stating how significant a blow his absence would be against Minnesota, who defeated the Lakers in the first round.

Golden State is coming off a grueling seven-game series with the sixth-seeded Rockets.
