A gunman accused of shooting a Georgia officer on Friday is in custody.
According to FOX5, authorities received a tip leading them to a forested area just outside the boundaries of McCaysville, where they arrested the alleged shooter, 26-year-old Timothy Craig Ramsey.
He was captured a little after 6 p.m. on Saturday.
McCaysville Chief of Police Michael Earley said, “We saw him and apprehended him,” WSB-TV reported.
Earlier reports from CrimeOnline indicated that late Friday night, Captain Brantley Worley was transported by air to a hospital in Chattanooga after being shot, as per WSB-TV.

Worley responded to a call on 1st Street for a suspicious person. Upon the officers’ arrival, reportedly, Ramsey allegedly opened fire.
“[He] brutally shot my officer in the face,” Earley said.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now leading the investigation, according to WSB-TV.
Ramsey faces charges of aggravated assault with the intention to murder a police officer and is currently detained in the Fannin County Jail.
Captain Worley remains in critical condition at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, where he suffers from a broken neck and a brain bleed.
Support is requested. “We are asking everyone to keep him, his family, and our department in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time,” Earley shared on social media.
