In a recent development, the San Jose Sharks have publicly apologized after a controversial message supporting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was displayed on their jumbotron during Hispanic Heritage Night at the SAP Center in San Francisco.

The incident occurred on Saturday during the first intermission of the game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, which coincided with Los Tiburones Night. The message in question read, “SJ SHARKS FANS LOVE ICE!! GET’EM BOYZ!” sparking immediate backlash.

Responding to the situation, the Sharks released a statement saying, “An offensively worded message, externally submitted, was mistakenly shown on our in-arena scoreboard during the first intermission. Sharks Sports & Entertainment deeply regrets this oversight, as it does not align with our organizational values. We sincerely apologize and are actively investigating how the message bypassed our standard review process.”
