FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — A man was taken into custody on charges of manslaughter following a pre-dawn shooting incident in Fernandina Beach, as reported by local law enforcement.
Officers were dispatched to a residence on South 13th Terrace early Tuesday morning, responding to a gunfire report that came in shortly after 3 a.m.
Upon arrival, police interviewed a witness and encountered Ty Richardson inside the house. The incident report notes that Richardson was “attempting to aid his friend” whom he had allegedly shot. The victim, still clinging to life when the officers arrived, was given immediate medical attention but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Subsequently, Richardson was apprehended and booked into the Nassau County jail facing a manslaughter charge.
