Amid rising grocery prices across the nation, Costco has quietly made a move to lower the cost of essential grocery items.

As one of America’s favorite retail giants, Costco is famed for giving its members substantial savings on bulk products.

By March 2026, Costco had expanded to over 630 locations across the United States, outpacing competitors like Target, which are struggling to keep pace.

Costco membership begins at $65, granting access not only to its famous food court but also to a wide array of essentials ranging from wine to automotive tires.

Though the membership fee may seem high at first glance, customers can easily recover it through Costco’s discounted prices on everyday food items.

In a continued effort to benefit its members, Costco has slashed prices on several popular products. As the fiscal year’s second quarter concluded in March 2026, one item even saw a price drop of nearly 40%.

This marks the second price drop announcement in a row during a quarterly earnings call. The first being in December 2025, when Costco shared items like chicken pot pie, bacon and whipped cream would have their prices slashed.

Here are the items shoppers can expect to see at lower prices.

Butter  

Butter consumption hit an all-time high in 2024, according to data released in late 2025 by the US Department of Agriculture. In the past decade alone, American families’ consumption of butter has gone up 21 percent.

As a growing staple in kitchens everywhere across the US, it’s a sigh of relief that Costco has elected to drop the price of the four-pack of Kirkland Signature butter from $13.89 to $8.49.

Organic Coconut Water

Coconut water didn’t always rule the beverage aisle – but that changed fast when Vita Coco hit US shelves in 2004. Suddenly, shoppers were swapping plain water and sugary sports drinks for the tropical favorite, drawn in by its natural electrolytes and reputation as a go-to hydration boost. 

But the coconut water boom comes with a catch. Because coconuts are grown in tropical countries, the supply chain stretches halfway around the world. Add in trade tensions and tariff shocks under Donald Trump, and prices for big brands have crept up. 

Some shoppers have recently seen a 12-pack of 16 oz Vita Coco bottles ringing up around $27.49 – enough to make anyone think twice before tossing it into the cart.

Enter Costco, which is now offering a 12-pack of 11 oz Kirkland Signature Organic Coconut Water for just $10.99 – down from $12.79. For coconut water fans, that means staying hydrated without draining your bank account.

3Ply Facial Tissues

Winter was the season when tissues were a must, with viruses such as the ‘K’ flu variant keeping many out of the office and stuck in bed. 

Despite spring’s slow approach, it’s unlikely that the warmer weather will keep the demand down as allergy season approaches. 

Costco is here to keep costs low for many customers’ endless resupply, reducing the price of their Kirkland 3Ply facial tissues from $16.49 to $15.99.

Organic Seaweed

Seaweed is another item getting a price cut for Costco shoppers. The retailer announced its 10-pack of Kirkland Signature organic seaweed will now sell for $9.99 – about a dollar less than its previous price.

That deal is hard to beat. A comparable 10-pack of GimMe Organic Seaweed sells for about $18.75 at rival retailer Walmart, making Costco’s version nearly $9 cheaper.

The timing comes as seaweed snacks continue to gain traction with US consumers. 

With more shoppers embracing plant-based foods and nutrient-dense snacks, seaweed has become one of the fastest-growing segments in the country’s aquaculture industry.

Another recent announcement members can look forward to is the rollout of new original products. 

The biggest savings at Costco come from its private brand, Kirkland Signature, and the price doesn’t outweigh the quality, as the company is known for putting ample effort into its products. 

Whether it’s the hot bar or on the shelves, here are the eight new products customers are raving about.

Kirkland Signature Grass-fed Beef Sticks 

Beef sticks are a staple in American gas stations and grocery stores as a quick and easy on-the-go snack for long road trips or the couch. 

The rollout of Costco’s new Kirkland Signature grass-fed beef sticks is a hit, with customers saying they beat out the popular brand Chomps with its more ‘jerky’ than ‘sausage’ taste. 

‘Better flavor than Chomps and way less grease than Archers,’ one review said. ‘I think these are some of the best for the price.’

Though some complained that they struggled to get through the bag due to it being ‘dry’ and chewy.

‘While Kirkland flavor is good, the texture is way off. Very hard to eat as they are very dry and rock solid,’ a disappointed reviewer said. ‘You need a good set of teeth to eat these. I can’t imagine being able to eat them closer to their expiration date.’

Kirkland Signature Atlantic Blackened Salmon, 6-count

On Reddit, customers gushed over Costco’s new Kirkland Signature Atlantic blackened salmon, with many saying they tried a sample in store before rushing to the freezer aisle to snag a box.

‘They had these in the samples area so we tried them and thought it tasted great. Ended up buying a box,’ one Reddit review said. ‘Tons of flavor and lots of juice. Prepared rice with it for a full meal. Would definitely buy again.’

The fish is farmed in Poland and raised with Antibiotics. The box comes with six fillets and is sold as boneless with the skin-on.

But many took issue with the salmon being farm-raised, with one user writing: ‘If only wild instead of farmed, I’d be all in. Yes, I’m a Seattle salmon snob.’

Kirkland Signature Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar Cake

Costco’s new Kirkland Signature chocolate chip cookie bar cake was a hit across the board with Reddit users who gushed about the texture and the cookie filling.

‘I sampled it last night! It was fantastic. Absolutely worth a purchase. I couldn’t tell if it was ice cream cake because of how cold it was, but it was the only sample I’ve ever wanted to go back for seconds,’ one ecstatic reviewer wrote.

Others made plans in the post about going to acquire their own cake, while others posted it inside their shopping cart. 

‘I fear what unearthly things I’d do to that cake if it ever crossed my path,’ another user wrote.

The cake itself is layered with chocolate icing on top, chocolate chip vanilla sponge, cookie whipped cookie cream, chocolate chip blondie bits and chocolate sponge layered below for an indulgent bite.

Kirkland Signature Pesto Pasta Salad with Mozzarella Pearls 

Venturing over to Costco’s deli section, pesto lovers will be delighted to see Costco’s new addition: Kirkland Signature pesto pasta salad with mozzarella pearls.

The pasta is packed with Costco’s beloved basil pesto, chunks of pine nuts, olive oil, slow-roasted tomatoes, vinegar and baby arugula. 

While some Reddit users were happy with the taste, others were less than happy with the price.

‘I just bought the Pesto pasta salad from Costco. It tastes good but wouldn’t call it a cheap buy. It was around $20 ($5.99/lb),’ one reviewer wrote.

Kirkland Signature Peanut Butter Monster Cookies

Another indulgent bite released by Costco is the Kirkland Signature Peanut Butter Monster Cookies.

The cookie is an oats and peanut butter delight with Reese’s Pieces baked inside. Reddit users described them as ‘dangerously good’ while others complained they didn’t have enough peanut butter. 

‘Just saw these today, tried one – they are dangerously good. Peanut butter, oats, Reese’s pieces…I imagine if you slap some food court vanilla in between it will be wild,’ one satisfied customer wrote. 

On the other end, an unsatisfied customer wrote: ‘It just tasted like a sugar cookie with Reese’s M&Ms. It won’t last. Pass.’

Kirkland Signature Hawaiian BBQ Pork Bowl with Garlic Rice and Pineapple

With spring and summer on the horizon, barbecue season is quickly approaching. And customers dreaming about warm weather can fantasize over Costco’s new Kirkland Signature Hawaiian BBQ pork bowl with garlic rice and pineapple.

One of the most vital ingredients is a fresh coleslaw, which the bowl has plenty of. 

It also comes with tangy BBQ pulled pork on top of garlic rice with pineapple for a sweet component to get through the sauce. 

As a heat-and-eat meal, Redditors were more than happy with its taste, with one reviewer commenting: ‘I got this from the Charlotte location as well and honestly I really liked it. It might be one of my favorites.’

Kirkland Signature Brownie Walnut Pie

Costco’s new addition to its dessert section is the Kirkland Signature Brownie Walnut Pie, which is both fudgy and nutty.

The pie is slightly pricier, with one reviewer writing it cost them $21.99 at their local Costco in Texas.

But others were excited by the pie’s surplus of chocolate, with a Reddit user writing: ‘You had me at ganache.’

Kirkland Signature Crispy Wings with Classic Buffalo Sauce 

The final item in Costco’s recent offerings is the Kirkland Signature Crispy Wings with Classic Buffalo Sauce – offering both drums and flats.

Customers can easily heat the wings in the air fryer or oven to get them crispy and then toss into the spicy sauce, perfect for watching sports or an easy dinner. 

And fans of the product can confirm they have a crunch, gushing over the wings’ bigger size compared to the popular brand, Foster Farms.
