Taylor Swift Holds At No. 1 In The U.K. As Alanis Morissette Starts Her New Album Inside The Top 10

Taylor Swift had no trouble debuting her surprise album at No. 1 on charts all around the world last week, including in the U.K. Now, the set earns a second stay in the penthouse, fending off competition from a highly-anticipated release from a beloved rock outfit.

As Folklore keeps at No. 1 for a second consecutive frame, Irish rockers Fontaines D.C. launch their new set A Hero’s Death at No. 2 on the U.K. albums chart. The title, the group’s sophomore full-length, is now their highest-charting, as it beats the No. 9 peak of their 2019 debut Dogrel. The band has now appeared inside the top 10 twice, but they have yet to land even one hit single in the country.

Steady at No. 3 is Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon, which peaked at No. 2 just a few weeks ago. Coming in just after that posthumous release is another from a late star, as Juice WRLD’s Legends Never Die, a former chart-topper, lifts to No. 4.

English rock collective Creeper debut their sophomore project Sex, Death & the Infinite Void at No. 5. The release is their first top 10 in the U.K., as their introductory full-length Eternity, in Your Arms only rose as high as No. 18 a few years back.

After entering the race in the runner-up rung last time around (as nobody was going to beat Swift), Ronan Keating’s Twenty Twenty TFCFA falls from No. 2 to No. 6, a fair dip for any title. The crooner’s latest pushes Lewis Capaldi’s Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent down one peg to No. 7.

The third and final new entrant inside this week’s top 10 on the U.K. albums ranking comes from Canadian alternative pop-rocker Alanis Morissette, who sees her latest studio LP Such Pretty Forks in the Road drive in at No. 8. The set if her fifth top 10 across the pond and her first in 16 years.

This week’s top 10 tier is rounded out by Harry Styles’ Fine Line at No. 9 and Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia at No. 10, with both releases falling from where they ranked last period.
