Disney Plus is set to become the new platform for CoComelon outside of YouTube starting in 2027, as reported by Bloomberg. All eight seasons of the show will transition from Netflix, which has hosted the extremely popular children’s series since 2020.

CoComelon, known for its simple, plotless, CG-animated shorts accompanied by nursery rhymes, stands as a significant force in children’s programming. It garnered 601 million views on Netflix in 2023. According to Bloomberg, it ranked as the second most-watched show on the platform last year.

Despite its widespread viewership, Bloomberg notes that CoComelon has experienced a decline in views by “almost 60% over the last couple of years.” It dropped from being the fifth most-watched show in 2023 to not even making the top 10 last year across all streaming platforms. Nonetheless, Disney appears to have struck a beneficial deal, reportedly agreeing to pay “tens of millions” annually for the show. This move aligns with the release of the first CoComelon movie in theaters, also slated for 2027.
