Right now, you can enjoy the latest installment in the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy XVI, on Xbox. Surprise-released during today’s Xbox Games Showcase, players can dive into FFXVI and experience its epic kaiju monster battles, outstanding voice acting, and its less-than-perfect storyline (because, let’s face it, even Square Enix can’t excel at absolutely everything). Alongside the main game, you’ll also have access to two story DLCs: The Rising Tide and Echoes of the Fallen, which further expand the narrative and introduce a new Eikon, Leviathan, the game’s unique take on summons.
But that’s not the only news as the collaboration between Xbox and Square Enix continues strong. Last year, Xbox introduced the highly praised MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV to their platform. Following this, rumors circulated, due to Square Enix’s interest in broadening its reach beyond the PlayStation ecosystem, about bringing the Final Fantasy VII remake to Xbox too. Those rumors have now been confirmed. The intriguingly titled Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which is the first part of the FF7 reimagining project combined with the Yuffie-focused DLC, will be arriving on Xbox this winter.
