After much anticipation, Insomniac has finally unveiled their version of Wolverine in action. The studio introduced a fresh trailer featuring some unexpectedly intense superhero gameplay during Sony’s latest State of Play event. Although no release date has been provided, the game — titled simply Wolverine — is anticipated to debut on the PS5 in the autumn of 2026.

Initially revealed in 2021 with a short cinematic teaser, Insomniac was initially reticent to share many details surrounding the game. Today’s trailer, however, offered this synopsis:

Become a lethal force. As Wolverine delves into his past, he will stop at nothing — wielding savage claw combat, explosive rage, and undying determination — to unravel the mystery of his former self.

The game has generated significant excitement following Insomniac’s success with a series of superb Spider-Man games, culminating in Spider-Man 2 on the PS5 in 2023.
