Fujifilm is raising the prices of its cameras again

Just a fortnight after increasing their camera prices by as much as $800, Fujifilm has alerted US customers about another impending price hike. According to a statement given to DPReview, the Japanese firm plans to “further adjust prices” in response to “volatile market conditions.”

This adjustment is set to take effect on August 30th, though there are few specifics available regarding the exact camera models or lenses affected and the scale of the increase. Fujifilm assured DPReview that the rise will not apply to their recently launched X half and X-E5 models, which are currently priced at $850 and $1,699, respectively.

Last month, after President Donald Trump secured a trade agreement with Japan, imports from the nation will now face a 15 percent tariff. Fujifilm stated, “As we navigate the current market situation, we are doing our best to partner with our retailers and consumers to weather this storm collectively.”
