Despite his outspoken stance on voter fraud, Elon Musk has found himself on the wrong side of U.S. election laws. Recently, his political action committee, America PAC, received a formal reprimand from the Georgia State Election Board for distributing absentee ballot applications with pre-filled information, a clear violation of state regulations. These laws forbid anyone other than a designated family member from submitting such pre-filled applications.
Residents in the counties of Chattooga, Cherokee, Coweta, Floyd, and Whitfield reported receiving these partially completed absentee ballot applications from America PAC. The Georgia State Election Board pointed out that these forms failed to clearly indicate they were not official ballots nor issued by the government, further breaching legal requirements.
During the State Election Board’s meeting on February 18th, the board swiftly decided to issue the reprimand. Notably, America PAC did not have any representatives present, nor did they provide a statement to defend or explain their actions.
This incident is just the latest in a series of questionable actions by Musk, who has previously pushed the boundaries of election laws. Musk has been known to suggest compensating individuals to sign petitions and register to vote in key states like Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. This situation underscores a recurring pattern where those loudly championing election integrity find themselves under scrutiny for potential legal violations.
