During the latest Prime Day sale, the Google Pixel Tablet, featuring Wi-Fi and 256GB of storage, temporarily dropped to just $309, a savings of $190, but this offer quickly vanished. Now, the deal has resurfaced, this time at Best Buy. However, it’s important to act fast, as the discount is only available today or until stock runs out, and the speaker dock isn’t included in this offer.

The Pixel Tablet was launched in 2023, which makes it somewhat dated in the fast-moving tech world. Nonetheless, this price drop compensates for its older specifications, especially since this model offers twice the storage at a lower price than the 128GB version. The tablet itself is quite straightforward, offering ample screen space for media consumption, gaming, and web browsing. According to a review by former Verge editor Dan Seifert, the Pixel Tablet doesn’t attempt to push any limits but stands out for its sturdy build and fast performance, making it a solid choice for Android enthusiasts.

This device boasts an 11-inch LCD screen with a clear, sharp display, a smooth matte finish, and four speakers equipped to deliver clear audio and distinct stereo separation. In line with most modern devices, it omits a headphone jack, requiring either Bluetooth or USB-C headphones. The tablet also includes an 8-megapixel webcam positioned on the screen’s long edge, allowing users to maintain a landscape view during video calls. Additionally, the tablet pairs seamlessly with an optional fabric speaker dock, to which it can magnetically connect, instantly transferring audio, like music or podcasts, to the dock’s superior speaker system.

Currently, Google’s future with tablets is uncertain, as rumors suggest that any upcoming iterations may have been shelved. Google has an event planned for August 20th, where new Pixel phones, potentially including a foldable model, are anticipated to launch. Whether a new tablet will be unveiled remains unclear. Regardless, the tablet is seldom priced this low, making it an appealing purchase option. It is crucial to consider, though, that Google guarantees only three years of software updates and five years of security support from its 2023 release, which is notably shorter compared to the seven-year support provided for newer Pixel smartphones.
