Google is part of Movies Anywhere again

In a welcome development for movie enthusiasts, Google has rejoined the Movies Anywhere platform. This means that films purchased through Google Play and YouTube will now reappear in your Movies Anywhere library. Previously, these purchases became inaccessible on the platform as of October 31st, but they are now once again syncing seamlessly with user accounts.

According to a statement on Movies Anywhere’s support page, “Support for Google as a digital retailer has been re-enabled.” Users are encouraged to reconnect their Google accounts, ensuring their movie purchases are incorporated into their collections as before. The process is quick and simple, taking just a minute.

If you’re a Movies Anywhere user, you might have received an email notification about Google’s return. Thanks to reader feedback, we know these emails contain a prominent button to facilitate reconnecting your Google account. Additionally, Google Play and YouTube are now back on the list of participating retailers on the Movies Anywhere platform.

Requests for comments from Google and Disney, which manages Movies Anywhere, were not immediately answered.
