Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 became available for PC and Xbox users yesterday. However, many early players are encountering difficulties with the game installation process. Players have raised various issues, such as installation loading problems, lengthy login queues, and game crashes. As a result, the flight simulation game is currently receiving predominantly negative reviews on Steam despite its $70 price tag.
Certain players have encountered their downloads freezing at the 97 percent mark. Others found themselves stranded on a login queue page during the game’s launch, faced with a message stating that “too many users are trying to connect at the same time.” Microsoft has advised affected players to monitor the Xbox Support Status page for any updates, although no ongoing issues with the game were reported at the time of this writing.
Acknowledging the prolonged loading times experienced by users when entering Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Microsoft issued a statement through the Flight Simulator support account on X. The company explained that due to the high volume of users simultaneously accessing the simulator, there is a significant number of server requests, which is causing the current issues. Microsoft assured players that they are actively working to address these concerns promptly.
For now, Microsoft is advising players to reboot the game if they’re unable to finish loading beyond 90 percent. Some users lucky enough to clear these hurdles and play the game are also experiencing bugs like disappearing cursors and assets not loading correctly — mirroring similar issues that occurred during its predecessor’s launch in 2020.
