The original Nintendo Switch, which has been priced at $299.99 in the US since its launch in 2017, now carries a price tag of $339.99 on Nintendo’s online store. Other first-generation Switch models have also seen price increases, with the Switch OLED rising from $349.99 to $399.99, and the Switch Lite going from $199.99 to $229.99.

Nintendo announced on Friday that its decision to increase prices was driven by “market conditions,” shortly after a similar price adjustment took effect in Canada on August 1st. This US price change was revealed just one day following President Donald Trump’s executive order, which enacts new “reciprocal” tariffs on several countries. These tariffs now include a 20 percent charge on items imported from Vietnam, where Nintendo has relocated most of its manufacturing.

Nintendo also raised the prices of the Alarmo and Switch 1 Joy-Cons by $10, pricing them now at $109.99 and $89.99, respectively. Meanwhile, prices remain unchanged for the Switch 2 console and both physical and digital formats of Switch and Switch 2 games.
