Though Black Friday is still on the horizon, Sony has already rolled out an impressive holiday promotion that runs until December 18th. This ongoing sale includes an array of products, from PlayStation 5 consoles to the newest Sony accessories. Among these deals, Sony’s standard DualSense Wireless Controller is available at a record low price of $54.99, a $20 discount, across various colors at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target.

This discounted rate applies to Sony’s basic models, which come in classic black and white. However, consumers can also opt for limited edition designs inspired by games like Astro Bot (available at Walmart and Best Buy), God of War (found on Amazon and Walmart), and Ghost of Yōtei (offered at Walmart and Best Buy) for approximately $64, also reflecting a $20 savings. While these special editions start at a higher price point than the standard models, they are still $10 cheaper than the usual cost of a regular DualSense controller.

The DualSense controller carries the familiar look PlayStation fans have come to love, yet it incorporates significant technical advancements over the previous DualShock gamepads. A standout feature is its haptic feedback, which enhances gameplay by delivering immersive vibrations. For instance, gamers might feel a subtle vibration on different sides of the controller as a character traverses sandy terrain. Additionally, the triggers offer variable tension, requiring different levels of pressure during specific game sequences, a compelling feature that many hope more developers will embrace.

In terms of essential features, the DualSense is equipped with textured grips and a built-in microphone, enabling voice chat with fellow players without needing a headset. There’s also a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting wired headsets or headphones. Charging is done via USB-C, and the controller can last around eight hours per charge, sufficient for most gaming sessions. While it is not compatible with other consoles, it can be used with a Mac or PC through Bluetooth or a USB-C connection.
