Destiny’s mobile spinoff will arrive in August

Destiny: Rising, a mobile-exclusive sci-fi RPG shooter set in the Destiny universe by Bungie, is scheduled for release on iOS and Android on August 28th. This launch date was revealed by Chinese developer NetEase Games, which also released a new gameplay trailer showcasing elements like missions, strikes, PvP, and PvE features that players will experience.

Players have the option to become a “fully customizable” Lightbearer named Wolf or to play as known Destiny characters such as Ikora Rey and Iron Lord Jolder. The game boasts modes for single and co-op play, competitive multiplayer, customizable Primary and Power Weapons, shared weapons across character arsenals, and introduces a new weapon type alongside a “Mythic” rarity gear tier.

The announcement of the Destiny: Rising release date follows a limited-access playtest launched in November. Preorders are now open on Google Play and the App Store. NetEase is conducting a pre-launch event where players can sign up to earn special in-game bonuses, with more rewards becoming available as registration milestones are achieved.
