As the tech world eagerly anticipates CES 2026, LG has stoked the fires of excitement by teasing its latest innovations in laptop technology. Among the highlights are the upcoming LG Gram Pro laptops, including what the company is touting as the “world’s lightest 17-inch RTX laptop.” These models, the LG Gram Pro 17 (17Z90UR) and Gram Pro 16 (16Z90U), promise to revolutionize portability with their introduction of a novel material called “Aerominum.” This ultralight composite, developed by LG, not only aims to significantly reduce the devices’ weight but also enhance their durability and resistance to scratches.
The LG Gram Pro 17 is set to feature a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution display and will be powered by Nvidia’s RTX 5050 laptop GPU, equipped with 8GB of VRAM. Although this configuration is expected to deliver robust performance for graphics-heavy tasks, content creation, and gaming, it’s important to note that it might not handle the most demanding games at maximum settings fluently. Thus, while the Gram Pro 17 offers impressive capabilities, it’s not positioned as a pure gaming machine. Specific details such as the laptop’s weight remain under wraps for now, but LG has confirmed that this model will initially be available exclusively in the United States.
Similarly, the weight of the Gram Pro 16 also remains undisclosed. However, this model will boast a 2,880 x 1,800 OLED display and be powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors. LG has assured that it will be the “lightest 16-inch laptop in its class to feature both on-device and cloud-based AI.” As we await further details, such as pricing and release dates for both laptops, it’s likely that LG is saving these announcements for the official CES showcase next week, keeping tech enthusiasts on the edge of their seats.
