Microsoft has expanded its Xbox Full Screen Experience (FSE) to include the MSI Claw series of devices, enhancing Windows PC gaming handhelds with a navigation experience akin to a gaming console. This development is part of the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build, with Microsoft announcing that the Xbox FSE is now available in preview for MSI Claw models.
The FSE initially launched earlier this month on the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X. However, my colleague Sean Hollister encountered several issues while testing it on these new handhelds. If you’re considering installing Xbox FSE on your MSI Claw, it might be wise to wait for the resolution of these issues and for its release beyond the Windows Insider program.
To activate the Xbox FSE, Microsoft advises: “On supported devices, navigate to Settings > Gaming > Full screen experience, then choose Xbox as your home app.” Once activated, users can access FSE through Task View and Game Bar, or set their handhelds to automatically enter the full screen experience upon startup.
Microsoft also mentioned that more manufacturers are expected to support Xbox FSE on their handheld devices in the coming months. Notably, Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 is slated to receive this feature next year.
