YouTube is updating its mobile app, introducing a feature that allows users to share videos starting from a precise moment. This new capability simplifies directing someone to a specific part of a video while using your phone. However, this update will phase out the Clips feature, which enabled users to create and share short segments from a video.
Existing Clips you’ve already crafted will remain accessible, but YouTube has announced that the option to define an end time or add a custom description when sharing will no longer be supported. Despite this, YouTube acknowledges the significance of clipping for creators to expand their audience reach. They emphasize that numerous third-party tools and authorized creator programs now offer enhanced clipping features for various video platforms.
The Clips feature was initially launched by YouTube in 2021.
