Joseph Derbisz, 21, was reported missing after being split from his buddies following a night out at the University of Birmingham. He has not been seen since early Sunday morning.

The hunt for Joseph Derbisz previously included a social media effort, with friends sharing information online in the hopes of locating him, as well as fliers posted throughout the university campus.

Authorities discovered a corpse, which they have identified as Joseph Derbisz. Despite the fact that formal identification has yet to take place, Joseph’s family and acquaintances have been notified, according to authorities.

His death is not being investigated as suspicious, according to West Midlands Police.

Rachel Thorp, one of Joseph’s housemates, has expressed gratitude to everyone who has helped disseminate information regarding Joseph’s disappearance and has requested privacy.

“We are deeply sorry to inform you that Joe has tragically passed away, We’re overwhelmed with the support and ask for privacy at this time,” she said in a Facebook post.

The University of Birmingham stated on Facebook “We have been informed that West Midlands police, who have been searching for our third-year student, Joseph Derbisz, have sadly found the body of a man off Edgbaston Park Road in Edgbaston today (28 March).”

“We are absolutely devastated to learn about the death of Joe. Our thoughts are with Joe’s family and friends at this very difficult time. We are doing everything we can to support Joe’s friends and family, as well as the wider student and staff community.”

“We continue to work with the police as they conduct their inquiries and are unable to comment further at this stage. You will see an increased police presence in the area and at the University this afternoon; please feel free to speak with them.” They further added

Joe’s cause of death has not been revealed by the authorities. However, we are doing all we can to obtain as much information as possible about the victim so that we can tell our readers as quickly as possible.
