It also had three bedrooms and three bathrooms on the first floor and an open plan sitting room and master bedroom suite with dressing room and bathroom on the second floor.
Outside there is a large terrace from the kitchen/dining room, which has folding doors out to the space, and two roof terraces on the top floor to make the most of the views.

Ben James from Dreambuild, who created the property, said: ‘The design of the building, into the bank, means the ground is a natural insulator for about 50 per cent of the building.
‘We’ve also put a large 7kw solar array of enhanced panels on the roof, they achieve better kilowattage. And for the heating element we have a double air source heat pump, which is also 7kw.
‘For every 2kw you put in, you get three out so the heating is completely self sufficient. And there’s another 3kw still available for your electricity.
‘We have orientated the design of the house to follow the solar path, projecting different angles and put in large panels of glass so you don’t need to use the lighting as much because you have lots of natural light, that makes it pretty much self sufficient.
‘We also used spray foam insulation in all the cavities, floors, walls and roof which makes the house more efficient.
‘The soil for the green roof acts as an another layer of insulation. The house is really warm, we hardly ever need the heating on. The combination of all those design features means you’re not having to use much energy.
‘The green roof is planted with wildflowers – 95 different flower varieties and all native to the UK. We wanted to benefit the ecology and it looks good.’
Phil Bates from Savills added: ‘The Shelter is a striking eco contemporary Herefordshire home designed and built for modern day living.
‘It’s a gamechanger – design and concept-wise, particularly in that area. It stands alone, in all the right ways.’
