First lady Jill Biden returned to her hometown of Philadelphia Sunday to watch her beloved Eagles play in the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers.
She and President Joe Biden arrived in Delaware from Camp David around lunchtime, with the first lady sporting an Eagles-branded top.
The White House then announced that Dr. Biden would be peeling off from her husband to attend the Eagles game – marking her second visit to Lincoln Financial Field as first lady.
Dr. Biden was born in New Jersey, but grew up in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, a town just north of Philadelphia.

In October, Dr. Biden watched the Eagles face off against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Eagles beat the Texas team 26-17.
She stood on the field with cancer survivors during a playing of the Eagles fight song, Fly Eagles Fly, as part of the Biden administration’s Cancer Moonshot initiative.
That moment made news because a doctored clip soon began making its way around the internet, that appeared to show the crowd booing at the first lady.
That video was later found to have been manipulated.
Philadelphia sports fans have a reputation for being hostile, thanks to a 1968 incident in which Eagles fans were so angry at the team’s poor season they booed Santa Claus.
Biden returned to Philadelphia in November to take in Game Four of the World Series – participating in a Stand Up To Cancer salute, paying tribute to Beau Biden and Corey Phelan, the late minor league Phillies pitcher.
The hardcore Phillies fan made her presence known at the game during a brief moment of quiet throughout Citizens Bank Park, as audience members held up tribute cards.

First Lady Jill Biden grew up in suburban Philadelphia and has been a Philadelphia Phillies fan since girlhood. She sported a Phillies jersey after her team won their series against the San Diego Padres
Dr. Biden’s read ‘”Pop” – Jim’s Dad’ and ‘Beau + Corey.’ Pop was her sister Kim’s father-in-law.
Beau Biden died of brain cancer in 2015, while Phelan passed away just weeks ago after a battle with a rare and aggressive cancer called T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The 20-year-old Phelan played for the minor league team that fed into the Phillies.
One photograph captured Biden appearing to wipe away a tear after the solemn moment.
She was sporting a World Series jacket with ‘BIDEN’ written on the back, a souvenir from Philly’s last run at the championship.
Biden later appeared on the Jumbotron screens again, with cameras cutting to her after showing a trio of celebrities attending the game: Bruce Springsteen, Miles Teller and Kate Upton.
