Yay! On Tuesday, Shaughna Phillips, 28, revealed that she has had a mortgage approved, after being unable to ‘even afford to rent’ on her own before Love Island (Pictured in February 2020)
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, she tweeted: My mortgage has been approved. I could cry, before Love Island I couldn’t even afford to rent on my own, now I’m here, with a mortgage, on my own, before I’m 30.
‘I am so f**king grateful I can’t even put it into words. Okay I’m crying bye x.’
She then added: ‘Honestly though, I would not be where I am today without every single person who has supported me, this is basically all of our house
‘I don’t ever forget how fortunate I am, and how lucky I’ve been. I will never ever take it for granted. Just thank you really.’

Congratulation! The former democratic services officer from London shared with her followers two weeks ago, that an offer she’d put on a house had been accepted

E,otional! Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, she tweeted: ‘My mortgage has been approved. I could cry, before Love Island I couldn’t even afford to rent on my own’
Last August, Shaughna revealed to MailOnline that her family was almost made homelessness while her late father Eddie was dying from cancer.
The Love Island star reflected on the struggles she faced when her father, Eddie passed away almost six years ago, and praised Macmillan Cancer Support, after the charity came to her family’s rescue.
Shaugna explained: ‘My dad was diagnosed with cancer in September 2015. He was a black cab driver in London. They’re self-employed and work for themselves – most people don’t realise that.

Grateful! She then added: ‘Honestly though, I would not be where I am today without every single person who has supported me, this is basically all of our house’
‘So when he couldn’t work anymore, he didn’t get paid. There’s no sick leave when you’re self-employed.
‘When people get cancer, all you think about is ‘god I hope they get through’. You don’t think about the impact on the whole family. We couldn’t pay the rent. Macmillan came to the rescue.
‘My mum as a lawyer contributed as much as she could, but it was quite a bit of shame for my dad, not being able to support the family financially. It had an impact on his mental state.’

Shocking: Speaking exclusively to MailOnline last August, Shaughna revealed that her family was almost made homelessness, while her late father Eddie was dying from cancer
The Love Island star praised the charity for their financial support, and explained how three months after her father’s diagnosis, they helped to secure them new accommodation.
She said: ‘MacMillan gave us these 2 grants, and that relief completely changed his whole mood. I’m still in such debt to them. They’re the only reason we weren’t homeless.
‘We tried to get help from the government, but that didn’t work. Macmillan also got in touch with out local MP on our behalf and managed to get us a house.
‘We found out on Christmas Eve that we were able to move into a house that accepted pets, so we could take our dog. I can’t explain how much we owe Macmillan.’
