Maks was missing since March 13, when he was working in Vyshhorod, a northern area of Kyiv, according to the UNIAN. He was employed in the settlement of Huta Mezhyhirska. In that location, there had been a lot of shelling.
According to the Guardian, “he was unarmed and dressed in a press jacket.” “It is a war crime to target journalists.”
Levin was “killed by members of the Russian Armed Forces with two rounds from small guns,” according to the prosecutor general’s office in Ukraine. This was unable to be independently confirmed.

He was born in Boiarka on July 7, 1981. He has been working as a photojournalist since 2006. The 40-year-old father of four has previously worked with Ukrainian and foreign news outlets.
Maks has worked for Pension magazine, Kievskie Vedomosti newspaper, Fotolenta photo agency, UNIAN; Gazeta 24, and LB.ua website. Maks has also worked as a freelancer for Focus, Profile, Ukrainian Week, Reuters, Associated Press, and BBC
He was also there during combat in eastern Ukraine in 2014 between Ukrainian forces and Russia-backed rebels. Thankfully, he had managed to escape the invasion in a town where hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers were slain.
Recently his majority of documentary efforts are on Ukraine’s war because “every Ukrainian photographer hopes of shooting a shot that would cease the war.”

Maks Levin, a photojournalist was reported to be shot to death in the war in Ukraine. He is the sixth journalist to be assassinated since Russia declared war on Ukraine on February 24.
He was discovered dead on April 2 after going missing for more than two weeks, according to presidential adviser Andriy Yermak.

Levin “was fatally shot twice with small-arms fire by personnel” of the Russian military, according to Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office.
