Two dead after Navy plane crashes in Alabama neighborhood

Two people on board a US Navy plane were killed when it crashed into a residential neighborhood in Alabama on Friday night, a report said.

The Naval aircraft went down in Magnolia Springs sometime before 6 p.m. local time, authorities said.

Nobody on the ground was injured, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. But authorities told WKRG that two died in the fiery wreck.

Footage from the scene shows the plane in flames on what appears to be somebody’s front yard. A home also caught fire, authorities said.

Thick black smoke can be seen billowing into the sky.

Department of Defense and Navy officials will be investigating the crash.
