UFC On ESPN+ 32 Full Fight Video: Watch Derrick Lewis Knock Out Marcin Tybura

After a rough 3-2 start in the UFC, Derrick Lewis found his footing. After a TKO loss to Shawn Jordan in June 2015, Lewis went on a 6-0 run. He won five of those bouts by knockout. Two of those stoppages came in main event outings. In June 2017, Lewis once again landed at the top of a UFC card when he was matched up against Mark Hunt. Hunt scored a fourth-round TKO win over Lewis.

When Lewis next set foot in the octagon he faced Marcin Tybura in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 126. Lewis was the No. 7 ranked fighter in the official UFC rankings at the time of the fight. Tybura, who was coming off a loss to former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum, checked in at No. 9 in the rankings. Tybura was a -135 favorite over Lewis on fight night. Lewis was a +105 underdog.

The fight went to the ground early in the first round when Lewis scored an early takedown. Nothing came of that takedown, but Tybura worked a submission attempt from the ground. Halfway through the first stanza, Lewis dropped Tybura with a punch. He then tried to end the fight with ground strikes, but Tybura scored a reversal and took control of the top position for the rest of the round.

Between the first and second rounds, Lewis’ team urged him to look for the finish. He followed that instruction, but Tybura worked out of trouble early in the round with a takedown. Once on the mat, Tybura worked from side control for a bit. Lewis did his best to get back to his feet, but Tybura kept Lewis on the mat. With a little more than a minute left in the round, Tybura gained full mount and landed ground strikes from in tight as Lewis tried to keep Tybura from posturing up.

Lewis’ corner then told him that the fight was tied at one round each, but stressed that he needed to stay off the mat and keep the fight standing in the third and final round.

Lewis kept the fight standing, but Tybura pushed Lewis to the fence for much of the early going. Tybura then went for a takedown. Lewis fought that off and then spun Tybura to the cage to get a little separation. He used that slight break to land some powerful punches. Those strikes dropped Tybura to the mat where Lewis wrapped things up at the 2:48 mark of the final round.

Lewis won his next two outings. Those victories earned him a shot at heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. Cormier submitted Lewis in the second round. Lewis also lost his next bout. Ex-UFC champ Junior dos Santos knocked him out in March 2019.

Lewis won his next two fights. Tonight, Lewis faces Aleksei Oleinik in the main event of UFC on ESPN+ 32.

Before that fight takes place, watch Lewis knock out Tybura.

UFC on ESPN+ 32 takes place at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
