Vincent Kompany claimed there is no ceiling to what Luca Koleosho can achieve at the highest level after the teenager inspired Burnley to a first home win of the season.

The Italy Under-21 international, who had just five La Liga appearances to his name when Kompany signed him for £2.6million from Espanyol in the summer, has been a shining light for the Clarets.

And he netted his first Premier League goal on Saturday during the 5-0 romp against Sheffield United, with his manager insistent there is more to come.

‘He’s extremely hard on himself, still very demanding on himself. But the good thing is it takes him a couple of seconds and he’s back.

Boss Vincent Kompany has insisted that the American teenager 'has a very bright future'

Boss Vincent Kompany has insisted that the American teenager ‘has a very bright future’

‘The amount of times he made a recovery run of 30-40 yards, caught someone up, won the ball back and then went the other way and then went at people one v one… that was just this game.

‘He’s done it in every game this season. I think he has a bright future.’

Burnley had lost all seven of their home fixtures during a difficult start to life back in the top flight but captain Josh Brownhill is adamant they can stay up.

‘The people who’ve watched us play, even away, see the performances have been brilliant so there is no reason for the manager to be under any pressure at all,’ Brownhill said.

‘We’ve got the belief and all the staff have as well. People will see our scores and think we’re in trouble but the confidence we have, the players we’ve got, we’re so confident that we’ll be fine this year.’
