The anticipation is palpable as fans endure the absence of new episodes of Tracker on CBS, intensifying those Sunday Scaries. So, just how much longer must fans wait for the return of Justin Hartley’s acclaimed survivalist drama?

The final episode of Tracker Season 2, Episode 20 (marking the Season 2 finale), was broadcast on May 11, meaning it’s been nearly two months since we’ve embarked on a fresh Colter Shaw (Hartley) escapade. Our last glimpse of the master tracker had him returning home for a job, visiting his mother, Mary Dove Shaw (Wendy Crewson), and uncovering shocking details about his father, Ashton Shaw’s (Lee Tergesen) death. To jog your memory, Colter’s mother was somehow entangled in this mystery!

In a recent interview with Variety, Hartley hinted at what’s in store for Season 3, saying, “I know we’ll delve into why my mother hired this man. Was she shielding her children? Was there an affair? Did the government play a role? Was it solely her doing? What kept her from revealing this truth to us? Why mislead me to suspect my brother’s involvement when he wasn’t? It resembles a divide-and-conquer strategy she’s employing. It’s a perplexing way to treat your offspring. There appears to be some deep-seated psychosis involved. We’ll explore that.” But when will that be?

Is Tracker is on tonight, July 6? Will there be a Tracker Season 3 on CBS? And when does Tracker return with new episodes on CBS? Here’s everything to know about the future of Tracker on CBS, including Tracker Season 3 premiere date info, Tracker streaming info, and more.

How Many Episodes Are In Tracker Season 2?

While there were only 13 episodes in Tracker Season 1, Tracker Season 2 consisted of 20 episodes, which means that Season 2, Episode 20, “Echo Ridge,” which aired on Sunday, May 11, was the Season 2 finale.

Is Tracker On Tonight (7/6/25)?

Technically, yes! Tracker is on tonight, Sunday, July 6, 2025. But there’s no new episode premiering. Instead, CBS will be re-airing Tracker Season 2, Episode 13, “Exodus,” from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET.

For those who need a refresher, here’s Tracker Season 2, Episode 14’s synopsis: “When a teenage musician vanishes in New Orleans, Colter teams up with a local detective and uncovers a chilling mystery involving dark magic.”

Will There Be A Tracker Season 3 On CBS?

So is Tracker eventually returning with new episodes? Yes! On February 20, 2025, CBS renewed the popular survivalist drama for Season 3, which makes sense, since CBS reported that Tracker hit over 18 million multiplatform viewers in February, a four percent increase from the prior year. On May 7, 2025, CBS claimed another big win when Tracker took the top spot in the network’s 2024-2025 season, averaging 17.5 million broadcast and streaming viewers per episode, according to a 35-day Nielsen streaming report. So when will Colter and company be back for more?

When Will Tracker Return With New Episodes On CBS? Tracker Season 3 Premiere Date:

As of Sunday, July 3, an official Tracker Season 3 premiere date had yet to be announced, but CBS confirmed that the series will return during the 2026-2027 broadcast season, so fans will have to wait a while for new episodes.

For a better idea of when Tracker could be back, let’s look at its prior release schedule. Season 1 aired from February to May 2024, but was only 13 episodes. And Tracker‘s 20-episode Season 2 aired from October 2024 to May 2025. Considering the sophomore season’s success, CBS may want to opt for another fall premiere date. Stay tuned for more updates!
