Donald Trump brought CNN conservative ‘black sheep’ Scott Jennings on stage during a Michigan rally celebrating his first 100 days in office.
Jennings, a DailMail.com columnist, often appears as the lone right-leaning voice at liberal CNN, sparking tense debates while defending the president’s MAGA agenda.
Trump gave Jennings a generous introduction to the boisterous, partisan Michigan crowd.
‘We have a man here that I don’t know but he’s defending me all the time on CNN and he defends me really well,’ Trump said.
The president joked that Jennings ‘can’t take it too far’ but added that its ‘amazing’ how he can ‘take it right to the edge’ for their left-leaning audience.
‘He really does a good job. I think he’s terrific,’ Trump said before bringing him up.
As he waited for Jennings to make it to the stage, he joked about it what it would mean for his career at CNN: ‘This is the end of Scott!’
He then embraced Jennings and allowed him to speak briefly to the assembled crowd.
‘Michigan, we were flying in her today and I said ‘look at these farms!’ I gotta’ get a farm in Michigan cause when you own as many libs as I do, you gotta’ get a place to put them all!’
Jennings then thanked the crowd and gave a final handshake to a beaming Trump.
The president brought a team of surprise guests to a rally in Michigan on Tuesday evening to mark the first 100 days of his second term.
He is staging his largest public event since returning to the White House in a state that has been especially rocked by his steep trade tariffs.
Trump invited a pair of administration personnel to the stage – Special Assistant to the President and Communications Advisor Margo Martin and homeland security advisor and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.
The president celebrated the 100th day of his second term – yet spent much of his rally marking it in campaign mode, fixated on past grudges and grievances.
He repeatedly mocked his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden, attacking his mental acuity and even how he appears in a bathing suit.
Trump again and again returned to immigration, his signature issue, at the rally that marked his largest political event since returning to the White House – boasting about his administration’s ‘mass deportation’ efforts that have sent arrests for illegal crossings along the U.S.-Mexico plummeting .
‘Removing the invaders is not just a campaign pledge,’ Trump said. ‘It’s my solemn duty as commander-in-chief. I have an obligation to save our country.’
He paused his remarks to play a video of migrants who Trump asserts are gang members arriving at a notorious prison in El Salvador, with the crowd cheering as images of deportees having their heads shaved were played.
And while Michigan has seen unemployment rise since Trump reclaimed the White House, yet Trump used his speech to continue to defend his administration´s steep tariffs on cars and auto parts – hours after the White House announced it was softening those.
‘We´re here tonight in the heartland of our nation to celebrate the most successful first 100 days of any administration in the history of our country,’ Trump said, standing before large electronic screens reading ‘100 Day of Greatness.’
He later added: ‘We´ve just gotten started. You haven´t even seen anything yet.’
Trump has also championed sweeping expansionism, refusing to rule out military intervention in Greenland and Panama, suggesting that American developers could help convert the war-torn Gaza Strip into a Riviera-like resort and even suggesting annexation of Canada.
Meanwhile, government-slashing efforts led by billionaire adviser Elon Musk have shaken Washington to its core.
‘After a lifetime of unelected bureaucrats stealing your paychecks, attacking your values and trampling your freedoms, we are stopping their gravy train, ending their power trip, and telling thousands of corrupt, incompetent and unnecessary deep state bureaucrats, `you´re fired!” Trump said during the 90-minute speech.
