CNN star Van Jones has turned on RFK Jr. by blasting his beliefs as ‘very sad and scary’, indicating a stark break from their former friendship.

Former Obama advisor Jones, 56, criticized the Trump administration’s ‘Make America Healthy Again’ leader during a discussion on the network’s Table For Five this past Saturday.

CNN anchor Abby Phillip mentioned a Wall Street Journal piece that suggested Trump regards the Covid-19 vaccine as one of the key accomplishments of his presidency, yet he avoids discussing it due to his connection with RFK Jr.

The health tsar is famously skeptical about immunizations, having said in the past that ‘autism comes from vaccines’.

During the Table For Five conversation, Phillip expressed that Trump is unable to address the vaccine rollout because he forged a political alliance with RFK Jr. and the MAHA movement.

‘I think this is very sad and very scary,’ Jones responded.

‘I know Bobby Kennedy – he supported my first book, and I am close to the Kennedy family, but I have been increasingly disillusioned with how he has behaved.’

CNN figure Van Jones (as seen above) has distanced himself from RFK Jr., criticizing his beliefs as ‘very sad and scary’, marking a significant shift from their past camaraderie.

Jones, a former Obama advisor, 56, rebuked the Trump administration’s ‘Make America Healthy Again’ leader RFK (pictured) during his appearance on Table For Five last Saturday.

Jones then segued on to condemn Republicans more generally for criticizing the response to the pandemic in liberal states, such as by enforcing harsh lockdown restrictions.

‘Science is not perfect, and public policy is not perfect. Any of us who have served in government know, you make mistakes, you don’t get it right,’ Jones said.

‘This is not a heavenly mandate. This is human beings. People were scared during that pandemic.

‘There were bodies lying on the streets in New York, people were filling up freezers with human bodies.

‘And there was an overreaction, and it did wind up hurting a lot of kids.

‘But that’s not (political). That’s not, liberals had some agenda they wanted to ruin America with. People make mistakes.

‘I wish progressives would come forward and say, we made mistakes, and acknowledge that, you know, the overreaction hurt children.

‘But to turn around and say because mistakes were made, everything is political, blatantly, I think is a mistake.’

Back in November 2024, Jones openly said that people throwing verbal rocks at RFK Jr. was wrong.

At the time, Van Jones told the CNN panel: ‘I think that the mistake we make is “here comes RFK Jr. on the nutty train” and all we do is throw rocks at him, as opposed to saying “you know what, if there’s evidence – there’s been some corporate captures from these agencies – as Democrats, we should go after that.”‘

In December of last year, Jones also criticized the Democrats for alienating prominent figures like RFK Jr. and forcing them to turn away from their party.

Robert F Kennedy Jr . has sparked outrage and confusion by sensationally claiming he can gauge a child’s ‘mitochondrial challenges and inflammation’ simply by looking at them

It comes after RFK Jr. sparked confusion and anger by claiming he can gauge a child’s ‘mitochondrial challenges and inflammation’ simply by looking at them.

The Health and Human Services Secretary said he assesses children in his head when he passes them on the street or at an airport.

‘I know what a healthy child is supposed to look like,’ he said alongside Texas Governor Greg Abbott at the signing of the Make America Healthy Again bill.

‘I’m looking at kids while I walk through the airports today, as I walk down the street, and I see these kids that are just overburdened with mitochondrial challenges, inflammation.

‘You can tell it from their faces, from their body movement, and from their lack of social connection.’

The remarks – which came after top medical experts were purged from HHS – sparked swift and sweeping backlash online, particularly from other health experts who challenged his comments.
