The footage is unclear but rioters can be heard clearly as Fanone continues to scream in pain.
At one point someone interjects and says ‘Don’t hurt him,’ and another person can be heard saying ‘We’re better than this,’ as someone else says ‘Let him through.’
Fanone pleads with the crowd, desperately telling them, ‘I have kids.’
Fanone’s pleas seemed to resonate with some people in the crowd who offered him a moment of protection, but Fanone says he was ultimately knocked unconscious, CNN reported.
By the time he regained consciousness, Fanone asks fellow officers who dragged him to safety, ‘Did we take the door back?’ referring to one of the entrances to the Capitol building where officers were trying to hold off insurrectionists, CNN reported.

Fanone and two other officers spoke at a press conference in January where they shared details of how the rioters beat them after breaking in to the Capitol Building while the House certified the election result.
Fanone, a father-of-four, told how the rioters tried to grab his gun and yelled: ‘Kill him with his own gun!’
‘We weren’t battling 50 or 60 rioters in this tunnel. We were battling 15,000 people.
‘It looked like a medieval battle scene,’ Fanone said. He and his colleagues rushed to the Capitol after hearing an urgent call for back-up on the radio.
He was among the few cops who tried to defend the West Terrace.
Fanone has shared his efforts to fend the crowd off so that they could not breach the Capitol building, unaware that protesters had already breached the Capitol and were inside.
Photographs of Fanone screaming as he fought against the mob have been widely shared.

Fanone previously revealed that some of the rioters tried to grab his gun in the chaos and that he feared they would shoot him which was why he pleaded with them not to kill him for the sake of his children, a moment his bodycam footage confirms.
Fanone said that his colleagues had mace sprayed in their faces, had their batons stolen and were then beaten with them.
‘We were getting chemical irritants sprayed, he said. ‘They had pipes and different metal objects, batons, some of which I think they had taken from law enforcement personnel. They had been striking us with those.’
He says that it was impossible to fight the crowd.
