Giovanni ‘Mike’ Robinson, a 32-year-old new father on a golfing trip in Wisconsin, captured a joyous moment with his golf ball on Tuesday—only to be fatally shot in a seemingly random drive-by later that day.

Originally from Canada, Robinson was visiting Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. Friends describe him as a fun-loving individual from a ‘wonderful family.’
Investigators said they are searching for the suspect’s vehicle, described as a small, dark-colored SUV, but no arrests have been made.
A bartender at a local bar Falls Tap reportedly said that he recognized Robinson as a customer on Tuesday night.
The bartender said the golfer and his group were kind and friendly and he saw no issues on the night they were there.
The Sheboygan Falls Police Department reported that when officers received notification of the shooting, they found Robinson suffering from a fatal wound upon their arrival.
‘Despite life saving measures being initiated and immediate medical attention rendered, the victim succumbed to their injury (and) was pronounced deceased at the scene.’
The department said that it is still working to determine the circumstances of the shooting, and that the ‘motive behind the shooting is unclear.’
Local Andrew Hendler also said on social media that the spot where Robinson was shot was within walking distance of two schools, ‘on a road that kids cross to go to either side of town.’

Robinson’s family said they were stunned by the seemingly random murder, and spoke to him the day he died when he sent them a photo of him celebrating his hole-in-one earlier that day

‘He was only 32, just had his first baby in August,’ she wrote.
One of Robinson’s friends, Peter Elgie, wrote on Facebook after hearing the news that Robinson was a fun-loving man from a ‘lovely family.’
‘Those of my friends who know Mike will all feel the same way about how we always felt better being around him,’ Elgie wrote.
‘He brought a joy and goodness with him each time I spent time with him. Kids at our golf camps idolized him and aspired further to their dreams because of how he was.’
The grieving friend added: ‘I am further disheartened and incredulous that with all the extraordinary people and parts of America that gun violence continues to wreak unknowable, generational trauma to endless families.’
