Prince Edward speaks out amid Jeffrey Epstein furore

Prince Edward has become the first member of the Royal Family to address the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, emphasizing the importance of remembering the victims involved.

The Duke of Edinburgh was approached at the World Government Summit in Dubai, where he was asked about newly released files concerning Epstein and how he is managing the situation.

Speaking to a CNN journalist on stage, Edward remarked, “With the best will in the world, I’m not sure this audience is interested in that. They came for discussions on education and future solutions. Still, it’s crucial to always keep the victims in mind. There are many victims in this situation.”

His comments follow the release of over three million documents by the US Department of Justice last Friday, shedding light on the late financier Epstein’s activities.

These revealing documents have provided further details about Epstein’s connections with Edward’s older brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who has been embroiled in controversy.

The bombshell papers have revealed more details about the American offender’s contact with Edward’s disgraced older brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Prince Edward Responds as Pressure Mounts on King

Edward’s response followed a question from CNN’s Eleni Gioko, who asked: ‘And I have to say this, and it’s super important, because, you know, it’s been dominating headlines. We all know the last few days have been very interesting, very difficult.

‘And I’m sure for you sir as well, this is an important question to ask, and I want to ask it in the context of what we’ve seen from Their Majesties and their response. And they’re saying that we should be focused specifically on experience of the victims.

‘The palace has been very, very clear on that. We’ve just heard some commentary from Prime Minister Keir Starmer as well, and bearing that in mind, and he’s saying that there needs to be assistance for the victims.

‘And I wonder what you think of this, because it is so close to home, clearly very difficult. And I know you’ve put in various plans in place to move the institution forward, but how are you coping with that?’

It comes as the King was urged to contact lawyers representing a woman who claims to have been sent to the UK by Epstein for an inappropriate encounter with Andrew.

Andrew has featured in the Epstein documents on a number of occasions, with new images in the latest release appearing to show him crouched over an unidentified woman who is lying on the floor.

Fresh Epstein Emails Drag Andrew Back Into Scandal

Elsewhere in the document dump, screenshots and scans appear to show Andrew exchanged emails with Epstein about a ‘beautiful’ Russian woman, and invited him to Buckingham Palace.

His ex-wife Sarah Ferguson also features in the papers, appearing to accuse Epstein of it being ‘crystal clear to me that you were only friends with me to get to Andrew’.

The former Duke of York was stripped of his titles by Charles last year after the posthumous publication of a book by Virginia Giuffre.

She also alleged she was trafficked by Epstein and his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell when she was 17.

Andrew paid millions to Ms Giuffre, a woman he has claimed never to have met, to settle a civil assault claim in 2022.

The former prince has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

Last October, the King began the formal process to strip the titles from Andrew and ensured he moved out of his Windsor home to Sandringham.

Mandelson Pressured to Lose Peerage Over Epstein Links

In a statement at the time, the palace said: ‘Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.’

Also this week, Lord Mandelson’s ties to convicted offender Epstein have led to calls for Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to strip him of his peerage.

The former ambassador to the US resigned his membership of the Labour Party after the latest document release.

In an email exchange from 2009, Lord Mandelson, then the business secretary, appeared to tell Epstein he would lobby ministers about a tax on bankers’ bonuses.

Bank statements from 2003 and 2004 appeared to show he received payments totalling $75,000 from the financier, and Epstein is also said to have paid for an osteopathy course for Lord Mandelson’s husband.

Key figures named in Maxwell’s newly released emails

Ghislaine Maxwell sought to portray Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s accuser as a deranged teenager obsessed with witchcraft, new emails from the Epstein files show.

A message from Maxwell’s ‘GMAX’ account sought to blacken the name of the-then Virginia Roberts after she alleged Jeffrey Epstein trafficked her to the former Duke of York.

In the 2011 email, Maxwell, currently serving 20 years in prison for procuring girls for predatory Epstein, advised her on-off lover to claim ‘she was 17 when you met her and her mum was worried she was into whichcraft (sic) and that she fled the country to avoid a grand theft auto problem and iditment (sic).’

The messages were sent after when Vanity Fair contacted Epstein about Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s links to Giuffre.

Giuffre, who took her own life last year, was paid an undisclosed, out-of-court settlement in March 2022 to resolve a US civil inappropriate assault lawsuit against Andrew, who denies her claims.

As observers all over the world continued to sift through the three million documents released on Friday – including thousands of uncaptioned videos and images with no context – humiliating revelations about Andrew and other key figures drawn into Epstein’s sphere continued to emerge across the weekend and into last night.

Royal biographer: I know there is worse to come for Andrew

A Royal biographer has claimed ‘there is worse to come’ for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor as the former Prince was pictured for the first time since being mentioned in the latest dump of documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein.

The disgraced royal, who was seen driving his car and later riding a horse in Windsor on Saturday, featured several times in over three million documents published last night by the US Department of Justice linked to the financier.

Among the documents was the revelation that Andrew invited Epstein to dinner at Buckingham Palace days after his house arrest ended, while a series of disturbing photographs appear to show the ex-Duke on all fours over a woman.

Elsewhere, in the document dump, screenshots and scans appear to show the former Prince exchanged emails with Epstein about meeting a ‘beautiful’ 26-year-old Russian woman.

Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson also featured, with one email appearing to show her thanking Epstein for ‘being the brother I have always wished for’.

Andrew Lownie, a royal historian who published a biography about the former Duke and Duchess, told the Daily Mail he believes there is ‘worse to come’ for Andrew.

He added that Sarah’s close relationship with Epstein was equally ‘damaging’, adding the former husband and wife’s reputations ‘are absolutely in the dust’ and ‘neither of them can ever recover from what has been emerging’.

The former couple lost Windsor mansion, previously home to the Queen Mother, following further revelations over their relationship with Epstein last year.

Earlier this week it was claimed that Sarah will not join Andrew in relocating to Sandringham because she ‘would prefer to stay in the Windsor area’ – leaving her in the midst of a ‘housing crisis’ as she is yet to find a new permanent property.
