World Champion Canadian-American water skier Neilly Ross revealed a little more than she bargained for when she made a surprise appearance on the Today show on Friday. 

The 20-year-old, who represents team Canada at official events, showed off her water skiing talents live on the breakfast program as they did a weather cross live from the Yarra River in Melbourne. 

Neilly, who is in town to compete at the Moomba Masters, did some flips and tricks in a skimpy black bikini.

She teamed her swimsuit with black and white rash shirt. 

‘Oh my goodness, her tricks are next level, those flips!’ weatherman Tim Davies said as he watched Neilly.  

Today show host Karl Stefanovic commented: ‘Poor girl has a wedgie.’

Neilly is a pro water skier who competes for Team Canada at events. 

She is in Australia for the Nautique Moomba Masters, which she has said is the event she looks forward to every year. 

Neilly spoke to Nautique about her passion for the sport and said she started learning the sport at the age of four.

'I have skied since the age of four years old and I began tricking at the age of eight,' she said

Neilly said her favourite part of the job is getting to travel and meet people all around the world. 

‘Getting to become lifelong friends with people from all over the world,’ she added. 

Her father Drew Ross is also a champion water skier.
