Rock star Ann Everton has tragically lost her life in a car accident while on her way to the first concert of her band’s US and Canada tour. Everton, a member of the band Darsombra, was 43 years old when she died in a multi-car collision in upstate New York, as confirmed by her family.

Everton and her bandmate and husband, Brian Daniloski, were traveling towards Montreal on Interstate 87 when their van crashed into a state trooper’s cruiser during a routine traffic stop with activated blue lights. New York State Police reported that Everton was pronounced dead at the scene, while both Daniloski and the trooper received hospital treatment for their injuries.

Honoring her memory, Ann’s brother-in-law, Jon Garrett, expressed on Instagram how she was known for her warmth, generosity, and as a ‘true artist.’ Ann’s creative endeavors spanned visual and video projects alongside her musical pursuits with her husband in Darsombra. Garrett highlighted their shared passion for art and music, alongside their efforts to cultivate a supportive community of independent artists back in Baltimore. ‘Ann was truly one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed,’ he shared.

Garrett also noted that Daniloski endured ‘severe injuries’ in the accident, and the family initiated a fundraising campaign to support him. ‘We know Ann would have wanted nothing more than to ensure Brian is cared for during this difficult time, and we are deeply grateful for any donations,’ he stated. The fundraiser detailed that the van was beyond repair due to the crash, stating, ‘The van has been totaled, and a significant amount of money has been lost.’ The page serves as a means for supporters to assist Brian during this challenging period.

‘Brian and Ann’s pure love for each other should serve as an inspiration to us all to stand with, and for, the ones who mean so much to us,’ the page reads. More than $44,000 had been donated by mourners as of Tuesday afternoon. The cause of the crash remains unknown, and the Daily Mail has reached out to New York State Police for additional information.

The band was heading to their first concert in Montreal scheduled for the evening of October 3rd when the accident occurred. They had planned to perform in additional Canadian cities like Ottawa and Toronto before kicking off the US segment of their tour in Marquette, Michigan.

Darsombra is a trans-apocalyptic galaxy rock duo from Baltimore, Maryland, according to the band website. ‘Known internationally for walking the line between glam-prog-psych-stoner metal and site-specific installation performance art, their hallucinogenic live shows are often met with the following responses: “I didn’t know what to expect, but that was awesome”, “I’ve never seen anything like that before”, and “it was like tripping on acid, without the acid,”’ the website reads.

‘The band has a committed DIY cottage industry ethic, self-producing their music and videos and booking their own tours globally. ‘They bring a stadium show in a cargo van or a handful of suitcases, and have performed in 48 states and 25 countries worldwide since their inception in 2005.’
