Police arrested a man who they said allegedly committed s*xual assault on a woman last weekend inside a Coral Gables parking lot.

Gary Arroliga, 34, was arrested Tuesday and faces multiple charges, including s*xual assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and false imprisonment.

According to a Coral Gables police press release, Arroliga grabbed the victim Sunday from a garage in the far north of the city and s*xually assaulted her. The victim was able to escape when he passed a car.

Arroliga allegedly chased the victim for a block and accosted her. A fight ensued, according to police, before the victim could fight Arroliga and he escaped.

Arroliga was identified Monday and detained the next day by Coral Gables police and SWAT members at his home.

He is being held without bail on various charges in the case.
